Our Story

Born from a Love of Honey, Built on Patience

Bee Well Meadery started with a single question: what happens when you give honey the time it deserves? The answer is a liquid that's equal parts ancient tradition and modern craft.

Located on Clam Lake Road in Bellaire, we're a small-batch meadery dedicated to the art of fermentation. Every batch begins with locally sourced honey, filtered Michigan water, and a commitment to letting nature set the pace. No shortcuts. No rush. Just honest mead that tastes like it was made by someone who cares.

The Mead

Every Bottle Tells a Story

Our rotating selection of meads reflects the seasons, the honey flow, and our curiosity. Some are dry and crisp. Some are rich and dessert-like. All are made the same way: with intention.

The Process

Four Ingredients. One Rule: Don't Rush It.

Great mead isn't made. It's allowed to happen.

01
Local honey harvest

Source the Honey

We partner with local Michigan beekeepers to source raw, unprocessed honey. The terroir of the nectar flow shapes every batch from day one.

02
Filtered Michigan water

Blend & Dilute

Pure Michigan water meets honey in precise ratios. We adjust gravity and acidity to set the foundation for fermentation.

03
Fermentation tanks

Ferment Patiently

Yeast does its work over weeks or months. We monitor, we wait, and we resist the urge to hurry. Good mead can't be forced.

04
Barrel aging room

Age & Bottle

Some meads rest in stainless for clarity. Others spend time in oak, picking up vanilla and toast. Every batch is tasted until it's ready — not before.
